USの小学校で起きた悲惨な事件。銃を購入時には、いろいろチェックをされるだろうが、購入した銃を家族が使用する可能性がある。野生動物から身を守るための銃は、地域によっては必要かもしれないが、一般の人には必要無いはずに思えるのは、USの治安を知らないからだろう。
この記事を読んでいた時は、まさか日本で起きるとは夢にも思わなかった。昨日7月8日、安部元首相が銃で撃たれ倒れた。
撃たれた？
こんなことってあり得る？
父が亡くなった年齢と同じ。
父は長年勤めあげた会社を退職し、これからゆっくりできると思った矢先だった。
元総理は、日本をここまで引っ張ってきて、まだまだやりたいことがあったでしょう。1発目爆音直後、後ろを振り返り、2発目に撃たれる瞬間、犯人を見たのではないか。無念だったと思う。

Matthew McConaughey Asks for Gun Legislation at White House
俳優マシュー、銃規制をホワイトハウスで要請
On June 7, Academy Award–winning actor‐アカデミー男優賞 Matthew McConaughey spoke at the White House to ask the government to pass gun control legislation in honor of the people killed in a school shooting in his hometown of Uvalde, Texas.
7月7日、アカデミー男優賞受賞者のマシューマコーノヘイはホワイトハウスで政府に銃規制法案を通すよう要請したー彼の故郷テキサス、Uvaldで起こった学校での銃撃事件で死亡した人たちの為にも。
In a very personal 22-minute speech, McConaughey asked the government to pass gun laws that can save lives without infringing‐侵害する on the Second Amendment（ to the United States Constitution）‐合衆国憲法修正第２条, which gives US citizens the right to bear‐携帯する arms.

McConaughey, a gun owner himself, vividly described the loss of the 19 children and two teachers killed at UvaldeElementary School on May 24 — the second worst mass school shooting in US history.

He asked politicians to strengthen background checks for gun purchases and raise the minimum age to buy an AR-15-style rifle — the type used in the attack — to 21 from 18.

"We want secure and safe schools and we want gun laws that won't make it so easy for the bad guys to get the … guns," he said.

McConaughey, who earlier this year considered running for governor of Texas, met briefly with President Joe Biden before speaking to reporters in the White House.

McConaughey spoke of his own connections to the town, saying that his mother taught at a kindergarten not far from the site of the shooting. He said he and his wife drove to Uvalde the day after the shooting and spent time with the families of some of the victims.

” Local police have been criticized for their slow response to the shooting. The 18-year-old shooter spent around 80 minutes in the school, and more than an hour passed from when the first officers followed him into the building and when he was killed.
