Reality TV Show to Send Winner to Space
A US-based production company says it will send the winner of its planned reality TV show called Space Hero to space for 10 days by 2023.
According to Deadline, the company, Space Hero Inc., plans to send the winner of its show on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS), calling it "the greatest prize ever given out on Earth."
The program will look around the world for people who love the idea of exploring space that want to take part. The application process is expected to begin in the first half of 2021 and those who are picked to be on the show will take part in training and challenges that will test their physical, mental and emotional strength.

Reports say that the last episode will be shown live across the world with viewers deciding who wins. The show will then follow the winner's trip, including the takeoff, their stay at the ISS and their return to Earth.
"Space Hero is about opening space up to everyone — not only to astronauts and billionaires," said Space Hero's chairman, Marty Pompadur.

So far, only seven people have travelled to space as private tourists, with each paying between $20 million and $30 million to do so. Deborah Sass, one of the founding partners and the co-CEO of Space Hero, has said that their ticket to the ISS is worth about $65 million.
SpaceX, the first private company to send astronauts to the ISS, plans to send three tourists to space in late 2021. Tickets will cost $55 million for the 10-day trip to the ISS and one ticket has already been bought. SpaceX has also announced plans to send Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa, along with six to eight artists, on a trip around the moon in 2023
